Alkaline Nutrition

In order for your body to function optimally and healthy, you need to maintain a pH level of between 7.35-7.45, the perfect range for oxygen to be carried around your body.

The modern western diet, filled with fast food, processed food and a lot of meat and dairy – not to mention sugar, caffeine and alcohol – is acid forming which means your body has to work really hard to digest food, using minerals you'd be better off using elsewhere.

A pH level below 7 is acid, above 8 is alkaline and 7 is neutral.

It's also a wonderfully easy way of eating – there are few restrictions, although you need to follow the how, what and when you eat; and the ratios of foods. Having said that, you don't have to feel that you're deprived, everything is OK, in measured amounts!

And at its simplest, the alkaline diet is... eating healthy food.

Alkaline nutrition rests on the acid/alkaline theory of health and disease. When we digest the food we have eaten and get the energy (calories) from it our digestive the by product can be either acid or alkaline, depending on the food you have eaten.

If you eat a lot of processed food, sugar, refined or fried food, the acidity will lead to chronic inflammation and leave your immune system weakened, prone to disease over time.

Our organs are masters at neutralising and eliminating acidity, but like any other system, it can get overwhelmed – especially when it has to work constantly, without any respite. Everything has a limit and then it starts to falter.

We are not trying to alter the blood pH, instead we are attempting to take a load off the system, so it doesn't have to work so hard. Making it more efficient and more reliable.

We can do that by eating alkaline forming foods: vegetables, fruit, leafy greens, sprouted grains and seeds, nuts and root vegetables. Also known as everything that's good for you.

And by avoiding acid-forming foods: processed foods, refined carbohydrates, refined sugar, alcohol, red meat, fried foods, fatty foods, (most) dairy products and caffeine - everything that's bad for you.

“I learnt one glass of this water contains more anti oxidation potential than the total amount of Blueberries you can eat in one whole day....Amazing stuff!! I just wish I knew about this sooner.”

John C. Cambridge, UK

“Our energy levels have significantly increased since drinking Kangen, as well as our digestion and sleep quality. Never going back to drinking our tap or bottled water. The difference is very evident. Thanks again for sharing.”

Guided Meditation

Meditation is the practice of first calming the body, then the mind, and then staying in the present moment.

Guided meditation describes a type of meditation led by a teacher, in person or via an audio or video.

Regardless which skill we are learning in life, having an experienced teacher we can trust and relate to is important. However, when it comes to exploring the mind, it is not just important but essential.

In a guided meditation, there are three stages that are covered: the approach, the practice, and the integration. You will learn how the mind works, various techniques and how to take these into everyday life.

Guided meditations are usually well-structured and follow a relatively simple step-by-step format. These can vary in length of time from around five minutes for a beginner to an hour for those who are more advanced.

There are different styles of guided meditation varying from cultures, religion, or spiritual tradition. These are based around a theme or focus such as mindfulness, loving-kindness, or peace. They often include techniques such as body scan, breath awareness and relaxation.

Guided meditation may concentrate on different areas to train the mind, such as breath, mantras, mudras, chakras, visualizations, or even physical objects. The objective is to notice when the mind has been distracted and return to the object of focus, as a means of promoting a quieter, more focussed state of mind.

Whether you choose to listen to a recording of a guided meditation by yourself or be part of an online or in person meditation group, making the decision to find peace in the present moment is the beginning to finding joy in your life.

Reiki Energy

Reiki is an ancient form of hands-on healing rediscovered in the 1920s by Mikao Usui in Japan. Reiki, pronounced ‘ray – kee’, is Japanese for Universal Life Force Energy. ‘Ki’ is the same as the Chinese ‘Chi’.

We are alive as long as the life force or ‘Ki’ or ‘Chi’ flows through us. Life force flows along pathways in the body, called meridians, or chakras. Around the physical body is a field of life force called the auric field. Life force energy nourishes the organs and cells of the physical body, supporting their vital functions. When this flow is disrupted, blockages occur thus causing diminished effectivity by the body's organs and cells.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and energising them with positive energy, raising the vibratory level of the energy field and around the physical body where the negative energy patterns exist. This causes the negative energy to dissipate. Therefore, Reiki clears and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force or chi to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Some of the benefits of a Reiki treatment are:
Balances the energy
Increases awareness
Heals the entire person
Works on causal level of disease
Releases negative emotions
Increases confidence and creativity
